Active Soil Depressurization
Soil gas pollution is more common than most think. It is usually encountered in houses that have crawlspaces or dirt/ground basement floors. The soil gases, which includes radon, are able to rise up through the ground and into the indoor air space. Because the entire basement floor is dirt/ground, the radon has an easy time entering the basement air. This means more radon enters the building envelope at a quicker rate compared to a house that does not have a dirt floor or crawlspace.
